Because I am working by myself for the research, planning, production and editing of my video I wanted to figure out a professional work flow that I could adhere to. By doing this it would allow me to work in stages instead of working in the incorrect order and having to unpick work. For example during the production of my AS media piece I was eager to start working on the colour grading therefore I did that before the first sequence was in place. I then realised that the grading I had applied was not appropriate when viewed alongside the other shots and I then had to remove hours of work. That is why I have adapted a production workflow found on Wikipedia for the production of my own music video.
- At the first stage of this list I imported the footage off my SD cards into folders labeled correctly.
- The second stage was to go through the folders of footage and use the tag tool to tag specific shots that I definitely wanted to make the video.
- The third stage is still in progress and is currently adhering to this list. After producing the initial assembly I have gone on to produce the rough cut.
- Once the final cut of the video is produced, including New York footage and new performance shots I will be ready to move onto colour correction.
- At that point once the video is finalised, because I am also playing on the track, I will send a copy to Youness, who is responsible for producing the track. He will then tweak the parts and we will record the live instruments. After this he will spend time mixing and EQ'ing the track.
