Obviously a huge amount of producing any product is about learning and evolving. This is the first time that I have worked by myself and had the freedom to really understand and develop the skills to produce a piece of work that is of the highest quality. At first this manifested itself in me upgrading from Final Cut to Adobe Premier. The thought behind this was that using more professional editing software would allow me to create a more professional video. I immediately noticed a difference in the way that the footage could be edited in comparison to Final Cut. However recently I have found out about the Adobe colour correction software called Speedgrade. At first my initial thought is that this project didn't justify me learning yet another piece of high end software however I want this piece to really reflect my want to produce the best piece of work that I can. And therefore to not bother learning the software and at least trying to use it would cause me a huge sense of regret. Therefore at this point in time I am investigating whether I would be able to use Adobe Speedgrade to do the colour correction for my video thus improving the look that I am able to achieve. Whilst producing this video, and work outside of my course, I try to not compare myself with the people around me but instead the people that I want to be around. Therefore it is key for me to understand the way the professionals that I admire work and adopt that approach.
